mod_perl (1.27 + 5.6.1) for phpdev423 only
if you have not got phpdev423 then please grab it first
you can download the phpdev423 mod_perl addon/module(still dont know what to call it) below BUT I have put it underneath the install text cos I want you to read it please.
Note that I have not tested this on 98/ME though if your phpdev423 install worked then so should this.
The NSIS installer will extract and run the PERL bits and bobs and alter your httpd.conf to suit a mod_perl setup.
Your phpdev\apache\conf\httpd.conf will be OVERWRITTEN - please make a copy of your httpd.conf before you install this module especially if you have made any changes, the perl module install will not overwrite your php.ini or my.cnf
Stop any running instances of Apache and PHP
If you are editing your httpd.conf right this second then now would be a good time to stop and close your text editor
This module will not install if you have for any reason deleted your c:\winnt(or windows)\phpdev.ini file OR the $install_dir\phpdev\php\sapi\install folder
- $install_dir\Perl
(eg c:\phpdev\Perl)
- $install_dir\www\cgi-bin
- $install_dir\www\asp
- $install_dir\www\mason
- $install_dir\www\perl
- $install_dir\www\embperl

This install may OVERWRITE certain files in the locations in the list to the left so please back them up first
$install_dir = (eg) c:\phpdev
|
After extraction the installer will atempt to run the perl_install.php located in $install_dir\php\sapi\install\ , this script may not for several reasons actually run , if not (you will get a message if it worked) then run the install_perl_module.bat file which will be located in $install_dir\install_perl_module.bat
how will you know if its running ? restart apache and type http://localhost/server-info in your favourite browser. you should see a little info about mod_perl in there, then run the tests & have fun, but not too much, you already have PHP on your system use it !
Test the installer !! > I recommend you download the installation tester (37kb) , running this file will attempt to read the phpdev configuation file and write a test file to your phpdev installation directory, dev423module_test.exe When you have run the installer check for a file called SUCCESS.txt in your phpdev install directory, if its there you can continue and grab the perl module below.
PS the forums are here
Note that all downloads from now on will be handled via sourceforge.
but a BIG thanks to the following peeps who have provided bandwidth for phpdev4 when it most needed it.
