Is it? What am I on about?? Well this page was to be another rant about PHP vs Whatever, however after getting involved in a few forum topics on these matters I find that the 'is PHP better than ASP/PERL/JAVA' etc to be a little like war - no winners, each side sure that they have the moral victory. There are some rather convincing arguments though at php.weblogs.com. So basically I am giving up trying to convince hardcore ASP/PERL heads that PHP is the way to go, that does not count for COLD FUSION however which has a lot to answer for ;) One ASP head pointed out in a recent discussion that Microsoft themselves used ASP and IIS! - no shit sherlock!! , I am pretty sure that PHP,net zend.com etc don't but I could be wrong ;) The other bit that's will go here is a list of sites running PHP, php. themselves once had a list of such sites, but with the advent of the new layout that section has disappeared for reasons unexplained (or at least I can not find it). To help compile this 'soon to be available' list.. if your site runs PHP or you have spotted any other PHP enabled sites worth mention.. please send me the link so I can add it to the list. If my latest function is finished - or indeed even works - there will be a text box here for you to submit that url with! |
